2011 Dion Frontenac Park Snowshoe Race – Results

 

The first race of the 2011 Dion Eastern Ontario Snowshoe Running Series took place on Sunday, January 16, 2011 with the Dion Frontenac Snowshoe Race . The race was held in ideal snowshoe running conditions just north of Sydenham at Frontenac Provincial Park

Taylor Murphy was the top male finisher in a time of 38:09 on the challenging 6.7km course. Taylor was followed by his brother Charley Murphy in second in 40:32 and Nigel Hudson in 42:28.

Shauna Connaughton won the women’s race in a time of 44:27, followed by Eliza Murphy in 47:37 and Angela Maciejewski in 49:34.

The next race in the Dion Eastern Ontario Snowshoe Running Series is the Frozen Ass Snowshoe Race at the Batawa Ski Hill, just north of Trenton, on February 6, 2011. For more information, please visit www.HealthandAdventure.com
