Dion Ignite the Night Snowshoe Race – Results

12507556_10153345922268907_6455569032284847785_nA huge congratulations to everyone who took part in the 2nd Annual Dion Ignite the Night Snowshoe Race this evening!

Conditions were fast and the race was a tremendous success once again with everyone enjoying a wonderful snowshoe run amongst the over 1 million lights at Upper Canada Village.

The 10km race earned competitors points for the Dion Eastern Ontario Snowshoe Running Series. The men’s race was a close battle with Christian Belair of Summerstown taking the overall win in a time of 49:32. Dave McMahon of Chelsea followed close behind in second place in 49:47, with Rob Lefebvre of Williamstown in third in 50:48.

The women’s 10km was won by Liz Nurse of Cornwall in a time of 63:48. Jen Milligan of Ottawa was second in 77:13, followed by Crystal Yukich of Ottawa in third in 81:41.

In the 5km race, Crwys Harris of Ottawa won the mens race in a time of 28:34. Joe Albert of Lac-Des-Loups was second in 31:37, followed by Rafeek Mohamed of Cornwall in third in 31:50.

The women’s 5km race was won by Lise Meloche of Chelsea in a time of 29:45. Amanda Brandimore of Gatineau was second in 31:43, followed by Abigail Jordan of Morrisburg in third in 31:43 as well.
