PARKING:

On site parking is limited. It is recommended to carpool or meet at the Hammond Golf Course (600 du Golf rd.) and take one car the the race start 1K away.

PUBLIC CHANGE ROOMS/BATHROOMS:

Change rooms and bathrooms are available pre-race at the Hammond Golf Course. Portable bathrooms are located at Hammond Hill, but please note that there is no running water on-site. Please bring warm clothes to change into following the race.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

Hammond Hill currently has tiny homes and yurts that can be rented for on site accommodations. For more information, visit the Hammond Hill website www.hammondhill.ca for booking details.

• Snowsquall 5K Classic

• 1K Youth Challenge

• 1K Youth Challenge - 10:00 AM

• 10K Dion Series Points Race - 10:30 AM

• Snowsquall 5K Classic - 10:30 AM

REGISTRATION:

1.0 km Youth Challenge (Kids 12 Years and under as of Dec 31, 2024) - $25.00
Note: **parents/guardian can accompany children in 1.0 km without registering for the 1.0 km event
 

5km & 10 km:

• Early Bird (before 11:59 PM December 31st) - $45.00

• Regular (before 11:59 PM February 20th) - $50.00

• Late (after 11:59  PM  Feburary 20th) - $60.00​

SNOWSHOE RENTAL: 

No Snowshoes? No Problem! If you don’t own a pair of snowshoes, we have a limited number of Dion Snowshoes for rent, and are available on a first come, first serve basis when you register online, so register early!

Rental fee is $10/race . 

 

RACE KIT PICK UP & LATE REGISTRATION:

Race day - Saturday Feb 22, from 8:30 - 9:45 am on site.

 

RACE KIT INCLUDES:

• A craft beer or non-alcoholic beverage from Broken Stick Brewing Company

• A voucher for a warm bowl of chilli or soup from Hillside BBQ

• A surprise swag item!

 

COURSE DETAILS:

Explore the scenic trails of Hammond Hill and Hammond Golf Course with these dynamic and technical courses:

• 10K and 5K: Groomed, single-track trails featuring undulating terrain and technical elevation changes. The loop format is spectator-friendly.

• 1K Youth Challenge: A fun and inclusive course for young participants.

POST RACE CEREMONIES::

• Held at Hammond Hill Beer Garden

• Enjoy your post-race beverage and chilli or soup

• Awards presentation

• Exciting draw prizes, including a pair of Dion Snowshoes!

AWARDS:

• Merchandise prizes from our sponsors will be presented to race winners. All participants are eligible for numerous draw prizes.

WEATHER POLICY:

• In the unlikely event of snow, the races will be converted to trail runs (without snowshoes). We encourage traction devices for icy conditions.

• Route and distances are subject to change depending on trail conditions.

DION CANADIAN SNOWSHOE SERIES:


The 10K Open race will count towards the series points totals. Points will be awarded for each race in the Dion Series with the series champions being crowned at the final event in the series.
