2018 DION Summerstown Forest Snowshoe Race - Results

Conditions were spectacular for today’s DION Summerstown Forest Snowshoe Race held in Williamstown, ON. This was the fourth race in the DION Ontario Snowshoe Running Series.

Rob Lefebvre won on his hometown course with a winning time of 37:32 over the 7.5km route. Corey Turnbull of Smiths Falls was second in 37:51, followed by Mathieu Dore of Clarence Creek in 38:20 for third. Guy Dorion of Ottawa was the top master (over 40yrs old).

Lisa Leskien of Cambridge won the woman’s race in a time of 42:01. Lise Meloche of Chelsea, Quebec was second in 47:27, followed by Michelle Kennedy of Kingston in third in 47:55. Lynne Giroux of Cornwall was the top female masters competitor.

The final race in the series will take place on February 24 in Sydenham, Ontario at the DION Frontenac Snowshoe Race. Series Champions will be crowned at the race and will be awarded a pair of DION Snowshoes and trophy.

This race also serves as the DION Ontario Snowshoe Running Championships. Trophies and additional prizing will be awards for race winners.
