2019 DION Howlin' Husky Snowshoe Race - Results
The DION Howlin' Husky Snowshoe Race took place today just north of Kingston at MTB Kingston's beautiful facility and trail network. This was the sixth and final race in the 2019 DION Ontario Snowshoe Running Series.
It was a gorgeously warm and bright day on the fast packed trails.
Bernie Hogan posted the fastest time of the day winning the mens race in a time of 25:42 over the 6.5 km course. Nick Best of Toronto was a minute away in 26:42, followed by Mike Mackett in third in 31:39. The top male master (over 40yrs) was Jason Wojcik in 35:15.
Lynda Gingras won the women’s race and was third overall in a time of 28:42. Lisa Leskien finished second in 33:22, followed by Vicki Zandbergen in third in 35:33. The top female master was Heidi Hitchins in 43:37
The overall 2019 DION Ontario Snowshoe Running series winners were awarded today as well: Nick Best took home the male prize, and Lynda Gingras won the female series.
A portion of proceeds from the race will be donated to help support Beyond21.
