2023 Dion Howlin' Husky Snowshoe Race - Results
The Dion Howlin’ Husky Snowshoe Race was held on Saturday, January 21 at the Mountain Bike Club of Kingston.
This was the second race in the Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series.
The snow conditions for the 6km course were hard packed and generally fast for the majority of the race before a final challenging uphill climb to the finish.
Bernie Hogan of Bancroft was the first runner to cross the finish line in a time of 26:22. Charley Murphy finished 20 seconds behind Hogan for second place in 26:42, followed by Zorian Ramsay in third in 28:12. Joe Turner was the top male master (40yrs +) in a time of 30:22. Peter Mill was the top male 50+ runner in 36:28
Katy Murphy of Toronto was the top female runner in the race in a time of 36:56. Emma Saaltink finished second in 38:53, followed by Lauren Brown in 41:57. Tanya Urbancic-Venemore was the top female 40+ masters runner in a time of 42:56, with Sheri Hogeboom finishing as the top 50+ runner in 46:22.
