Dion Summerstown Forest Snowshoe Race - Results
The Dion Summerstown Forest Snowshoe Race took place on Saturday, February 8th, on the beautiful trails in Summerstown Forest, near Cornwall, ON. The 7.5km event awarded points towards the Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series with participants vying for the $1,200 cash prize purse. There was also an accompanying 4.6km race as well.
Men's 7.5km Series Race Highlights
Bernie Hogan was the overall winner in a time of 33:18. Hugo Duguag-Boucher finished second in a time of 37:41, while Dave McMahon finished third in a time of 39:39. In the masters (40+) category, Sebastian Warner took top master in a time of 44:11.
Women’s 7.5km Series Race Highlights
Megan Poulin took first place in the women’s race in a time of 40:06. Lise Meloche finished second in 45:09, followed by Trina Boisvenue in third in 49:10. Michelle Leduc was the top master in a time of 50:46.
Men’s 4.6km Race Highlights
Clayton Delaney finished first in the men’s race in a time of 32:23. Stephen McGrath finished second in 33:26, followed by Trevor Forsey in third in 33:48. Andrew Causey was the top master in a time of 56:50.
Women’s 4.6km Race Highlights
Michelle Brokop took first place in a time of 33:13. Amanda Wong finished a close second in a time of 33:14, followed by Sarah Poirer in third in 36:18. Chantal Tranchermontagne was the top master in a time of 38:29.

Looking ahead, the Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series next heads to Hammond Hill, just outside of Ottawa, ON for the Dion Snowshoe Squall Snowshoe Race on February 22nd!
